Secondary education has been available in Rosewood since 1962, however, the high school was opened in 1980 to replace the original secondary department attached to the Rosewood State School. Despite its relatively short history, the school has established an enviable reputation for high quality learning outcomes and individual student achievement.
Our school motto 'In Pursuit of Excellence', vision 'To develop Responsible Citizens with Realised Potential' and belief statement, 'Those who care win' provide a clear direction for our work day by day. In keeping with the school motto our goal is to work with each student towards the realisation of the student’s individual potential. Students have the opportunity to do this through their active participation in academic, cultural, sporting and community pursuits. Students are actively encouraged to assume an increasing personal responsibility for their actions within a supportive school environment where the rights and responsibilities of all are acknowledged and valued.
In working to achieve this goal the school has the active support of staff, students and parents as well as a number of individuals and organisations from the wider Rosewood community. The Student Representative Council and the Parents and Citizens Association, contribute significantly to the achievement of the school’s goals and are indicative of the quality partnerships that underpin the success of Rosewood State High School. Students and families new to the school are encouraged to seek active involvement in the school.
