Principal’s welcome

Welcome to Rosewood State High School

Secondary education has been available in Rosewood since 1962.  However, Rosewood State High School was opened in 1980 to replace the original secondary department attached to the Rosewood State School.

With the commencement of the 2018 school year, Rosewood State High School is entering its 39th year.

Our school motto, In Pursuit of Excellence provides a clear direction for our work day by day.  In keeping with the school motto our goal is to work with each student towards the realisation of the student’s individual potential.  Students have the opportunity to do this through active participation in academic, cultural, sporting and community pursuits.  They are actively encouraged to assume an increasing personal responsibility for their action within a supportive school environment where the rights and responsibilities of all are acknowledge and valued.

In working to achieve this goal, the school has the active support of staff, students and parents as well as a number of individuals and organisations from the wider Rosewood community.  The School Council, Parents and Citizens Association, Tuckshop Committee, Student Council and the Leo Club contribute significantly to the achievement of the school’s goals and are indicative of the quality partnerships that underpin the success of Rosewood State High School.  Students and families new to the school are encouraged to seek active involvement in the school.

Rosewood State High School is:

  • a creative, challenging and stimulating school
  • an inclusive school
  • a welcoming, happy and safe school
  • a distinctive school
  • a clean and green school
  • a school in productive partnership with the community
  •   an active and healthy school and it is
  • equipped with capable and flexible staff.
As Principal, I am committed to creating a culture of high expectations and enhanced school performance.  I encourage you to become part of the daily life of our school, to hold us to our commitments and work with us to achieve excellence in everything we do.
