Certificate II in Information Digital Media and Technology

The study of Certificate II in Information Digital Media and Technology provides students with an understanding of fundamental Information and Communications Technology skills and provides them with opportunities for development of appropriate life skills to assist them in their transition from school to work within any industry and environment and as responsible, contributing members in the community.
IDMT is an enjoyable practical subject which seeks to prepare students to meet rapidly changing ICT practices and protocols using computers and digital technology to provide practical solutions to real life or simulated real life problems. As most facets of modern life incorporate technology, this is a valuable subject for students to develop the confidence to adapt and make the most of this constantly changing world.
The course develops students' information technology skills, as required for work in an IT or business environment in any industry. Students will learn how to: use a range of computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher, to produce business documents and presentations; develop a knowledge of workplace health and safety and sustainability; use of digital photography; use MovieMaker to produce movies; integrate computer packages; communicate electronically, including use of email, discussion forms and wikis, and use social media.
This course provides students with the skills to proceed to Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology and/or a range of business employment opportunities.
